Carla is 29 and works as a nurse in a small hospital. She usually gets up at 5:30 because she has to start work at 7 a.m. On weekdays she hardly ever has breakfast at home; she just drinks a quick coffee in the staff kitchen when she arrives. During her shift she takes care of patients, checks their temperature and blood pressure, and talks to their families. She is often very busy, but she likes her job because every day is different.
Carla finishes work at around 3 p.m. Most afternoons she goes straight to the gym or meets a friend for lunch. After that, she does the shopping and goes back home. In the evening she cooks a light dinner, watches a series, and sometimes studies English online. She is trying to improve her English because she wants to work abroad in the future.
At weekends her routine is completely different. On Saturday she usually sleeps late and has a big breakfast with her boyfriend. Then they tidy the flat, do the laundry and plan the week. On Sunday they often visit Carla’s parents in another town or go for a long walk near the river, as long as the weather is good.
