A1 — Lesson 112: Comparatives (-er / more ... than)

Unidad 9: Descripciones, comparaciones y preferencias. Aprendemos a comparar con adjetivos comparativos: taller than, bigger than, more expensive than.

1️⃣ Explicación — comparativos básicos

Estructura clave: A + be + comparative + than + B (A es más <adjetivo> que B).

Tipo de adjetivo Regla Ejemplo
1 sílaba adj + -er + than fast → faster than
small → smaller than
1 sílaba (CVC) dobla consonante + -er big → bigger than
hot → hotter than
2 sílabas con -y y → i + -er happy → happier than
adjetivos largos more + adj + than expensive → more expensive than
comfortable → more comfortable than
taller than bigger than more interesting than cheaper than

Recuerda: than = que en la comparación. My car is faster than your car. (Mi coche es más rápido que tu coche.)

Lee la reseña de dos teléfonos y responde. Observa los comparativos.

Anna wants to buy a new phone. She is looking at two models: Phone A and Phone B. Phone A is cheaper than Phone B, but the camera is not very good. Phone B is more expensive than Phone A, but it is faster and the battery is bigger. Phone A is lighter than Phone B, so it is easier to carry. Anna likes taking photos, so the camera is more important than the price.
