A1 — Lesson 113: Superlatives (-est / the most)
Unidad 9: Descripciones, comparaciones y preferencias. Ahora pasamos de comparar 2 cosas (taller than) a hablar de la número 1 de un grupo: the tallest, the most expensive.
1️⃣ Explicación — superlativos básicos
Estructura clave: the + superlative (+ noun) A es el/la más <adjetivo> del grupo.
| Tipo de adjetivo | Regla (superlativo) | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|
| 1 sílaba | the + adj + -est | fast → the fastest small → the smallest |
| 1 sílaba (CVC) | dobla consonante + -est | big → the biggest hot → the hottest |
| 2 sílabas con -y | y → i + -est | happy → the happiest |
| adjetivos largos | the most + adj | expensive → the most expensive comfortable → the most comfortable |
| irregulares | good → the best; bad → the worst | far → the farthest / the furthest |
Diferencia rápida: comparativo: My car is faster than yours. superlativo: My car is the fastest in my family.
2️⃣ Grammar 1 — forma de superlativo
Elige la opción con el superlativo correcto.
3️⃣ Grammar 2 — elige la oración correcta
Escoge la oración con superlativo que suena natural en inglés.
4️⃣ Reading — elegir el mejor hotel
Lee la reseña de tres hoteles. Fíjate en los superlativos para decidir.
Mark is planning a weekend trip and is looking at three hotels. Hotel A is the cheapest, but it is also the noisiest because it is in the city center. Hotel B is the most comfortable and has the biggest rooms. It is also the quietest hotel. However, it is the most expensive. Hotel C is the closest to the train station and has the friendliest staff, but the rooms are small and not very modern. Mark wants a place to relax, so for him, a quiet room is the most important thing.
Esta lección prepara la Lesson 114 (preferencias: prefer / would rather), donde vas a usar superlativos y comparaciones para explicar qué opción prefieres.
